Intersectional exhibiton introduced collection of notable czechoslovakian posters as part of festival “VISION OF LIGHT 2009” in hall of cinema Art in Brno.

Soviet movies in Czechoslovak poster

Within XVI. Seminary of russian movies in Veseli nad Moravou was presented extensive collection of 40 posters from czechoslovakian artists for soviet movies which were made from year 1960 till 1989 .

With this intrudoctary exhibition, we have opened series of the Polish Film Poster exhibitions which belongs to an absolute top of the world graphic design. Same as in the series „The Golden Era of Czechoslovakian Film Poster“ we want to introduce the most famous Polish authors in separated exhibits in next few years.Exhibited posters are shown here

The Golden Era of Czechoslovak Film Poster - IX. - Zdeněk Kaplan

Cinema Světozor, Prague (10. 9. 2009 - 31. 10. 2009) —

Zdenek Kaplan’s posters were influenced by the art deco morphology. Subtle ornaments, detailed drawings and domineering surreal elements make Kaplan’s style unique. Although he created only 30 posters in Czechoslovakia, he still belongs to the authors who are sought-after the most. Among his best posters we can count posters for film The Seven Year Itch, My Fair Lady, The Penguin, Live for Life .
